It took a lot of work by many parties, Virginia can now legally produce a crop that was mandatory to grow almost 100 years ago.
Commonwealth Hemp is pleased to announce that Gov. McAuliffe signed the Industrial Hemp Production bill into law on or about Monday March 16th. The law will go into effect July 1.
This does not mean we can start growing iHemp on July 1. There is still work to establish a licencing process, university research terms and multiple other hurdles. At this time we should anticipate limited production to begin in 2016.
